Bring
on the Derby!

After
Saturday's frantic ticket sales for the big match in two week's
time, the excitement is already starting to build up after the
fantastic win at Millwall. The trip to Prideless Park awaits and
I for one can't wait for it.
This game has been eagerly awaited since the fixtures were
released back in June. The ticket sales had been discussed for
weeks, many people asking what time to arrive at the ground and
it was easy to see how important this game is for us Trickies by
the amount of people down at the City Ground in the early hours
of Saturday morning.
Living in North Notts, me and my dad had to be up at 5:15am to
get down to Nottingham to queue for the tickets. When we arrived
at the ground about 6:20 there was a few people there and the
queue was increasing by the minute. Even at 6:20 the queue was
fairly big as we were stood outside the doors to the Study
centre. As the queue increased it stretched around the outside of
the car park, back out past the ticket office and down towards
Radcliffe Road. Despite the constant standing for about three
hours it was well worth it, the relief when we'd got the tickets
was enormous. It was a very enjoyable morning especially my
breakfast that consisted of a bacon cob and two bottles of Stella
- well I don't like coffee!
Many people were disappointed at missing out on a ticket, but
then it doesn't help when the first person in the queue picks up
over 100 tickets. I sympathise with those who missed out on a
ticket after queuing but hopefully most will eventually get a
ticket after D***y allocated us a few more. If not, then at least
the game is on Sky, not much of a consolation I know but at least
you'll see the match.
Foe those of us who have tickets, the excitement starts now.
After the fantastic win against Millwall on Saturday at the New
Den we're in great shape unlike our sheep-loving friends from
down the road, who could only manage a draw to ten-man Walsall.
We've had a good start to season and hopefully this will continue
against the sheep. They, on the other hand, have had, let's say,
a crap start to the campaign - oh, isn't life great at the
moment!
However all that aside, it won't be an easy game. Anything can
happen in local derbies and I expect this to be the same. Our
young squad gets a two-week break they deserve to recharge the
batteries and plan for this vital game. The players know how much
this match means to the fans and without doubt they'll be looking
forward to it as well, especially the younger players in the
squad. If you asked any of the players at the start of the season
which game their looking forward to the most, they would all of
said "D***y". It won't be an easy match and it will be
another test for our young squad. However, we have the confidence
and ability the overturn any team is this league at the moment
and D***y should be aware, the Reds are coming to get you!
The last time Forest played D***y was at Prideless Park a few
seasons ago when they luckily beat us 1-0. I won't forget that
game because it hurt, it's now time for revenge. It's time to
give them revenge for not only that defeat but all the piss
taking that they've fired at us over the last few years. Well
guess what - it's our turn now. It won't take anything to fire me
up and let's be a vocal as possible - I'm sure that goes without
saying - and let them know who the best team in the East Midlands
is.
The excitement between now and the 20th will build up by the day.
I can't wait. The atmosphere is going to be something special.
Let's welcome the sheep to the First Division by footballing them
to death and out-singing them at Prideless Park. It's sure to be
great game with a great atmosphere and hopefully we'll come back
to Nottingham with three points
I'll be back in a few weeks after the big game to write my
thoughts and opinions on it, but until then try to control your
excitement. I don't know how, but try. I'll see you all at
Prideless Park! If anyone's interested, I'll be sat on Row A,
Seat 696, Stair 58.
