We all agree, Dawson is better than Rio

What a season the youngster is having so far. After coming into the side to replace Jon Olav Hjelde, he hasn't looked back and is earning himself a very good reputation throughout the game. So much so that this week he got called up to the full England squad for a training match and it's easy to forget he's only 19.

Before this season, all Forest fans had heard of Michael Dawson as a very talented up and coming youngster, another one off the Paul Hart production line but many wouldn't of anticipated the impact he would have this season. After making a very impressive debut last year against Walsall, it was clear to see the lad had talent.

After making his first appearance of the season against Kidderminster in the Worthington Cup he hasn't looked back, replacing Jon Hjelde, who last year nearly won player of the season, that itself was a challenge. His appearances have gained him great praise from not only Forest fans but also many within the game. Prior to the Wolves match, he has played 14 games scoring 1 goal and has played superbly in all those matches.

I would go as far to say that he is the best we've seen as far as Harty's youngsters are concerned. Many people have said that he reminds them of Des Walker back in his prime. Now I never really got the chance to see Des in his prime but it's a reputation to be proud of. If he achieves what the skipper has then he'll have a very successful career; there's no doubting he has the potential to achieve what he wants.

So what does the future hold for the lad? Well at the present time lets hope it's playing for us in the Premiership. There have been many rumours over the last couple of weeks about a possible move to the Premiership come January but I hope he doesn't go and I doubt very much that Paul Hart will let him leave when we have such a good chance of promotion this season. Who knows come the end of the season though, we can only hope he doesn't go.

As far as international football is concerned, well who knows? He can achieve what he wants to as long as he continues to work hard and doesn't start believing his press. I don't think Paul Hart won't let his work rate drop and I very much doubt he'll listen to what others are saying about him. If he continues like he is doing at the moment I'm sure he'll represent England at the highest level and maybe even captain the side one day, who knows? Only time will tell!

Without doubt Michael Dawson has a very bright future. I would bet that in ten years time he will be a household name playing international football. Hopefully we'll the see best of 'Daws' in a Forest shirt and if anyone from the club reads this, please don't sell him. We'd be making a big mistake, trust me on this!

As I write this article we are currently 11 games unbeaten going into a big match against Wolves. Now over the years we don't have the greatest of records against them but hopefully on Saturday this will change. The team has been playing well of late and confidence will be high after last weeks win against Bradford.

I'll be there at Wolves hoping we can extend our run and close the gap of the teams above but most importantly move further away from the team's bellow. With a game at home against Brighton coming up this is a great opportunity to cement our place in the play-off area. Lets hope that come Saturday we'll be sitting comfortably in the play-off zone.

I'll be back in two weeks, until then keep things tricky!
