Official site in funny April Fools joke shocker!

Nottingham Forest
official website has broken new grounds and shocked fans by coming up with an
April Fools Day joke which is actually funny! In previous years the site has
struggled for laughs, having to settle for a wry ironic smile at best. But this
year the team really think they've cracked it with a chunk of pure comedy gold,
according to webmaster Geoff Peabody.
LTLF first learned of the joke's existence when Peabody rang up one of our
reporters and asked him to meet him in a secluded location. It took a while for
our man to figure out what it was all about because Geoff couldn't help
sniggering down the phone, but eventually a meeting was arranged.
Having
seen the joke, which will appear on the official site at some point during April
1 disguised as genuine news story, LTLF can assure eager readers that it will
have you in stitches for hours at the very least. Our reporter is still in
hospital recovering and had to be sedated in order to deliver his report.
In previous years the official site has spectacularly missed the funny-bone with
such lame ducks as reporting that a forthcoming match was to be called off owing
to the discovery of a rare plant growing on the City Ground pitch or claiming
that Forest had somehow qualified for the Champions League. They even managed to
cause mass offence by running a joke about the club hiring a female coach in
very bad taste a few years ago.
As Geoff explained, the stakes have been a lot higher this year following the
closure of the official site's forum: "Those idiots would fall for anything
and we could get away with putting any old half-arsed crap on the site. But this
year we've really had to work hard to come up with a joke that would get them
rolling in the aisles."
He added: "We've spent almost the whole year coming up with this cracker -
that's why we may have been a bit slow updating on occassions recently."
LTLF cannot reveal the details of the joke because of the confidentiality agreed
with Geoff in return for this exclusive, so you'll just have to head over to the
site and see if you can spot Geoff's cunning stunt yourself, or wait for it to
be revealed later in the day. Unfortunately for some, the 'reveal' will only
appear on the site's 'Forest World' service because, as Geoff explains,
"maybe we can make a few more quick bucks off it."
But for those who are lucky enough to enjoy this year's April Fools Day joke
(and providing you are of the intellectual level to actually 'get' it), remember
to keep hold of your sides because they may very well split!
APRIL FOOLS!!! The official site has NEVER
come up with a funny joke!!!
