Interview with Max Rushden
LTLF has the pleasure of introducing an exclusive interview with Soccer Am presenter, and the man who stepped into the sizable boots of Tim Lovejoy, Max Rushden.
1. Who is your favourite guest you’ve accompanied on the sofa?
Tough one that. Mr T recently was amazing, when I couldn’t really believe I was sitting on the same sofa as him! And Dion Dublin, cos he’s a Cambridge United legend. But there’ve been so many. Brian Blessed and Dara O’Brien were brilliant – in very different ways…
2. If you could invite any guest to be on the sofa with you, who would it be?
I’d love to meet Sir David Attenborough – what a legend.
3. What car do you drive?
I don’t really care about cars. At the moment I drive my housemate’s Clio. I might buy one next season, but while this one still works – I’m not that fussed.
4. Who is your favourite football player at this moment in time?
Tricky, at Cambridge Scott Rendell is flying. In the Premier League, I love how Carrick passes the ball. Gerrard is always quality. Think Messi is amazing at Barca. Is that enough?
5. If you could have any meal cooked for you by a top chef, what would it be?
I’ll take Spaghetti Bolognese, by Heston Blumenthal. He was great when he came on the show.
6. Who’s the most famous person in your mobile phone?
I don’t really have celebrity mates – prefer to hang out with my school mates. So it’s probably Helen! Here’s the complete list. Dion Dublin, Colin Murray, Mark Pougatch, Ralf Little, Steve Staunton, Georgie Thompson, Tubes and Rocket.
7. Who in your opinion is the better football manager; Brian Clough or Alex Ferguson and why?
That’s an amazingly tough question. Probably Fergie – cos of the sustained success, but Cloughie is a legend.
8. Who do you prefer; Rocket or Tubes?
They’re both genuinely good lads and nice people, always up for a laugh!
9. What album is currently being played in your car?
My housemate’s clio has a built in cassette player – but i can plug an iPod in. I usually put it on shuffle. But i like the Killers.
10. Whats your favourite English football ground and why?
The Abbey Stadium and Wembley. The two homes of football.
11. Who is your favourite comedian?
Eddie Izzard, Peter Kay, Mark Watson, Idiots of Ants.
12. Do you own any game consoles, if so which?
There’s something down by the telly, i think it’s a PlayStation. It’s not mine, it’s my housemates. I don’t play it really. I did spend about 3 years of my life playing Championship Manager on the Amiga. That was quality.
Best of luck to Forest this season, they deserve it!
