Doyle’s Deliberations
LTLF forum regular, and all round nice guy, Nick Doyle speaks out about Forest’s current situation.
So, it’s coming to the end of the season. And Forest are in a position where they need to win at least 3-4 games from there last 6 to keep in the league. Lying currently 22nd, and 1 point off relegation zone. But it all should be all doom and gloom for Forest, should it?
As our run in is : Bristol City (Home), Sheffield Utd (Away), Coventry City(Home), Blackpool (Away) & Southampton (Home). I firmly believe this is in our own hands, and can win about 3-4 of them games. Looking at Norwich and Barnsley, who are just above us.
Norwich’s run in: Swansea (Away), Watford (Home), Ipswich Town (Away), Reading(Home) & Charlton (Away)
Barnsley’s run in: Sheffield Utd (Away), Watford (Away), Swansea (Home), Reading (Away, Coventry (Away), Wolves (Home) & Plymouth (Away)
I think, they both have particularly tought run in’s, especially Norwich. I think personally, It will end with Charlton, Southampton and Norwich. Would be funny to see Sammy Clingan back in League one after joining a club with much “Potential” and help them get into the Premier league.
On the season as a whole, I think it will be an sucessful season, if we stay up. There’s not many games where we have been played off the park really, the only most memorable one is the Wolves game and Doncaster at Home and Burnley. I don’t think we deserve to go down, as we haven’t played that bad of football, and like i’ve said there hasnt been games where we have been totally played off the park.
The loan signings this year, they’ve all been not too bad. Joel Lynch, A player when he first came, he looked didn’t look too impressive. But under Billy, he has played very well. Anderson, A good loan signing he was, with his pace and passing ability, he has been a good winger for us. Chris Gunter, A player who has still got a bright future ahead of him, and he has played very well at Forest. Mcsheffery, well he only came to regain some fitness before the season is over, he does have the quality, he hasn’t shown much of it at Forest. Osbourne, I think he has a good future ahead of him, he’s a very good midfield player. Iain Turner, Not been in long enough to rate. But on the matters of goalkeepers, I am still a big fan of Paul Smith.
I think overall, we have had a good season, but it will be better if we stay up! It’s in our own hands and I think we can do it, the run in we have isn’t as difficult as the others in the relegation scrap. Let’s just hope it doesn’t come down to the last game of the season, and we bottle it. It will be a good achievement for the club to stay up, and will also be good for Billy, as he can then build his team in the Summer, in a league, where hopefully it will attract the players.

Good season?? anderson a good loan signing??
