Nottingham Forest fan, brother of player killed in Afghanistan

Lance Corporal Kieron HillA British soldier who died in Afghanistan this week was a Nottingham lad and a Forest fan.

Not only that, but Lance Corporal Kieron Hill was the brother of Forest youth team player Aaron Mitchell. Another brother, Liam, is on the books at Notts County.

LCpl Hill, 20, served with the Mercian Regiment who are the local regiment for the Midlands. He was killed by an explosion in the Helmand province yesterday (28 May).

“We offer our deepest and heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Lance Corporal Kieron Hill,” Mark Arthur told the Evening Post. “As a club we will give Aaron all the support he needs at this extremely difficult time.”

All at LTLF echo those sentiments. Several forum members are currently serving in Afghanistan and others have been out there in the past.
