LTLF Speaks to Nottingham Forest Star, Kelvin Wilson

LTLF poses your questions to Nottingham Forest defender, Kelvin Wilson.

Do you feel as if you have proven yourself in a Forest shirt, or do you think you could have done more?

Every player feels that they have more to offer, and I’m the same.

How do you feel you have performed this season, and what aspects of your game do you need to improve on?

I would like to improve on everything. As for the season, it was average, and I know that I will be better next season.

The whole squad seems to be more formal under Billy Davies’ management, do you prefer this or the relaxed approach undertaken by Colin Calderwood?

I’ve played under both manager’s, and they are very different. Together, they are the two best I’ve played under.

How has the atmosphere changed under Billy Davies?

I don’t think it has changed a great deal to be honest.

It’s rumoured that Billy Davies wants to spend big money on one or two new centre backs, do you feel under threat for your place?

No, that’s how it should be. Then you know you have to do your stuff on the pitch.

Do you think that the Reds would have stayed up under Colin Calderwood?

If I’m honest, I think we had good enough players to stay up anyway.

Who are the best and worst trainers at the club?

The best is Garath McCleary, the worst is Joel Lynch.

If you could have one attribute of any player at the club, what would it be?

It would probably be Lewis Mcgugan’s left foot, as mine is rubbish!

Who would be your ideal centre back partner?

Wes Morgan, he is a very good player, and I love playing with him.

If you could re-sign one former teammate, who would it be?

Sammy Clingan.

What is a typical off-season like for Kelvin Wilson?

A few holiday’s, and spending time with friends and family. That’s it really.

Did Billy Davies set you targets of fitness for the off season?

It’s just about staying in shape really, and then when we get back for pre season, that’s when the match fitness will start to come.

Do you try and emulate any top class players?

Yes, Rio Ferdinand. He’s the best modern day defender in my eyes.

Who’s technically the best player at the club?

Lewis Mcgugan.

Who is the most difficult player to come up against in training?

Garath McCleary
