Matt Mills and big name international to sign – City Ground sources

»» News

Nottingham Forest are today expected to announce the signing of long-term target Matt Mills from Doncaster Rovers, LTLF has learned.

Sources close to the club are also whispering about talks with a big name player – an experienced European international who will drop from the Premier League to join Billy’s new look team.

LTLF recently brought you the first news about Radoslaw Majewski signing his loan deal and we’d be even more delighted if these tip offs proved accurate!

  1. I trust you guys but hope this is right as it sounds awesome. Wonder who it could be.. Don’t say Marlon Harewood ;)

Are you guys sure about this, other forums are saying that there is no press conference, they have called the CG, asked and the answer has been no.

Bad form LTLF. I understand you want to keep up the number of hits on your site, but to publish such nonsense renders your site useless.

Bit disappointed you’ve changed the text of the article without being clear you have done so. Originally it said a press conference at 10.30AM and now there is no mention of it or any mention of you changing the article based on updated information.

Can I ask…has the article been changed as the press conference didn’t happen or because you got new information?

    July 30th, 2009 12:37 pm

  17. Jonathan says:

BTW I’m not having a go at you posting the info – in fact I’ve defended you on one forum – but its good practise to be clear about article changes if they are made.

  18. Hi Jonathan,

Yes I have changed the text of the intro – didn’t make sense to leave it at 10.30 as clearly the announcement didn’t happen then.

I don’t have any more info since posting the article this morning. There could be any number of reasons for a delay or the transfer might not be happening at all – I can’t say for definite at the moment and I never did. All we’ve said is that sources at the City Ground (where LTLF had behind the scenes access for much of yesterday) ‘expected’ Mills to sign and based on what I’ve been told we still can ‘expect’ him to sign today. We’ll see.

  19. Jonathan says:

Let’s hope you are right mate! He’d be a massive signing. Be interested to know how sources intimated there might be a big European Prem player signing as well, but obviously I expect you can’t really say.

Hey give these guys a break! Wait and see what happens.

Seems like the Donny fans are pooing their panties tho, at the thought of us getting a good player! LOL

  21. Mark says:

This article is complete rubbish. The Forest manager has stated today that he does’nt think a deal will be made for Matthew Mills. Because they don’t want to pay the valuation of £3m.

  22. Ian G says:

    Alex
With all due respect, Matt Mills will not be signing for us any time soon. Billy Davies has himself today revealed on the official site that he has all but given up on the deal. However, I heard myself some two weeks ago from my own source at the City Ground that an experienced international player may be possibly coming down from the Premiership to sign for us. I have no idea who it could be, but it does represent an element of truth in your story. I did not divulge this info to anyone at the time to ptotect my source, but now that it’s out in the open I might as well, so I’m still quite excited at this prospect. If I was to hazzard a guess, and it would be a guess, I think it could be Senderos from Arsenal.

    July 30th, 2009 6:20 pm

  23. [...] Evidently Matt Mills has not signed for Nottingham Forest today as we thought he would. [...]

  24. DannyV says:

To be fair I was given the same information after the match that backs-up LTLF’s story. Again this was from VERY good sources at the CG.

It could of been a bit of spin from the club, but just thought I’d jump to the defence of the guys running the forum. Don’t think they meant to mis-inform anyone, just trying to provide a service to fellow fans!

Apart from CB do we really need any more signings?!
