Under the sure setting in of Autumn’s darkened skies, and with the country’s fireworks primed for the evenings festivities,  Nottingham Forest found themselves, once again, facing an opposition from the upper reaches of the Championship, themselves hoping to light the very skies for the City Ground faithful, with a victory and three points that would see them leapfrog their opponents, Bristol City.

The great Dylan Thomas once wrote, “Wales is the land of my fathers, and my fathers can have it.” Under Cardiff Skies, it was clear that the inhabitants were somewhat more passionate with the fans in good voice ahead of their side, Cardiff’s tie with Nottingham Forest.

The sun always shines on TV, but Forest usually lose. The Sky cameras roll up like harbingers of doom or, more specifically, harbingers of an embarrassing display well below the par you’d hope for in front of the eyes of the nation.

Having had a sneaky bet on this game being a draw I find myself perhaps not too downhearted!  Indeed, having seen another game where Forest have created enough chances to win and have once again been confounded by a deflected effort, it is a bit frustrating in the obvious ways – but there are plenty of positives to draw.  That seems to be the tack Billy Davies is taking (although he called it an own goal!) and I agree with him.

Even though it seems to have escaped The Media’s notice. There was a football match on Saturday before a much publicised scuffle broke out. And for the nuetral,  what a stormer of a match it was – not that there were many nuetrals within the sell out crowd.
