The transfer window is now upon us and it is time for the speculation to begin on who is coming in and going out of the City Ground.
The Reds spent big in the summer and many people are expecting more arrivals in this window. However, with the side playing so well this season is there a need for further additions?

The new Left Back podcast from Left Lion, featuring myself and Rich Crouch representing LTLF, is available now. What with all the palaver over the Trent this week, we and regular Notts County correspondent Jacob went head-to-head to thrash out all the details of local football, including what Tord Grip will do for money if the Pies go out of business, why Jeremy Clarkson wants to ban Forest fans from Top Gear, and a Leicester fan who showed us her good points. Download it or listen online here.

Myself and Rich Crouch join the Left Lion team in the studio for an irreverent natter about the Reds, including Rich’s stalking of various Forest players around Nottingham and some of the most bizarre Forest-themed music ever recorded.
You can download the Left Back podcast or listen to it online on the Left Lion site.

Busy Billy has rescheduled his ‘Audience With’ appearance at The Approach next month – originally planned for the 12 November, the event will now take place on Thursday, 26 November. Refunds will be available to those with tickets who now can’t make it and you can still win a pair of tickets from LTLF. Billy is apparently going to be in America on the 12th. He might just be on holiday, but if it’s a scouting mission we can get the lowdown from him two week’s later!

LTLF’s Rich Crouch takes the floor and I struggle to get a word in edgeways as he discusses the season so far, tries to predict the Ipswich result like Derren Brown and reveals his new showbiz friendship with Luke Chambers. The Left Back podcast from Left Lion also includes stuff about Notts County, an interview with comedian Mathew Horne and some local musicians.

The Southbank Bar, as the official sponsors of the LTLF Reds of the Run team, will be offering a novel incentive to our entrants in the Robin Hood Marathon – a free pint!
Nine runners from the LTLF website will be taking part in either the full or half marathon events this Sunday and if it all becomes too much of a struggle they will at least have something nice and refreshing to look forward to at the end of the race.
Plus after months of training and watching their diets, a beer or cider is the least they deserve.
The LTLF Reds on the Run are raising money for the RNID who represent 9 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK – please sponsor the team at www.justgiving.com/redsontherun

Typical. I do my first bit of media whoring on behalf of LTLF in years and even then Alan Fisher gets half the credit! But that’s nothing compared to what happens to my fellow guest, Notts County Mad editor Jacob Daniel, who nearly dies from swine flu during his spot, yet still manages to get his website’s plug in early – what a pro! Find out what it’s all about and get the low down about what the new season holds for both Nottingham clubs in the first edition of Left Lion’s Left Back sports podcast.

Evidently Matt Mills has not signed for Nottingham Forest today as we thought he would.
Sorry for getting anyone’s hopes up, though I would like to reiterate the fact that we didn’t state he definitely would sign (as some people did), just that we had information to suggest he was expected to do so.

Nottingham Forest are today expected to announce the signing of long-term target Matt Mills from Doncaster Rovers, LTLF has learned.
Sources close to the club are also whispering about talks with a big name player – an experienced European international who will drop from the Premier League to join Billy’s new look team.
LTLF recently brought you the first news about Radoslaw Majewski signing his loan deal and we’d be even more delighted if these tip offs proved accurate!

As you can see, the shirt includes the Nottingham coat of arms, the old Forest crest, in the collar. The label also confirms that the shirt will only be used for one season as it states “Kick off: 2009; Full time: 2010″.
What do you think of the new shirt?
