Match Report - Forest v Barnsley

Billed as the ‘last chance saloon’ for Colin Calderwood, I expected this to be a nervy tie, and wasn’t disappointed.
Match Report - Forest v Norwich City
Posted in: Articles - Season 2008/09, Forest Matches
I thought it best to put this report away from the hysteria of the forum where any rationally thought out post seems to be shot down with waves of abuse and cynical put downs.
Following on from 4 games on the run where we have played well and come away with points against teams we were […]
Nottingham Forest 0 Cardiff City 1

As the autumn wind howled and the cold rain punished the eager crowds, we battled our way through the elements from our regular watering hole amidst the swelling supporters hoping for an end to the frustrating recent run of disappointing results.
Me Owd Duck versus Cardiff

Now then,
The last four times Cardiff have come to the City Ground, they have won. So, I suppose we should not be surprised. Forest are a conundrum at the moment. Rooted to the foot of the table and seemingly unable to beat anyone, yet we are putting out a good team and playing well. No […]
Reds In Reserve - Forest 3 Lincoln 3

Quite a decent game to watch. Lincoln had a strong team out – including Stephan Oakes, Westwood, David Graham and Gall (ex Carlisle) who was very good for them.
Forest and Charlton Endure City Ground Stalemate

On the 4th anniversary of the death of talismanic Forest cult hero, Brian Clough, I entered the city ground at 2:45 pm expecting a rather more sentimental occasion. Apparently the event had gone either unnoticed, or ignored by most, and this saturday seemed just like any other.
Losing Streak Continues At Deepdale
Posted in: Articles - Season 2008/09, Forest Matches
The late great Alfred Wainright, writer and fell-walker, who notably grew up just down the road from Preston’s Deepdale in neighbouring Blackburn, once referred to Football as one of the true pleasures in life. Unfortunately, after three losses in a row, and on the brink of a fourth, such pleasure seemed a long way away […]
Early Season Attendances
Posted in: Articles - Season 2008/09, Forest Matches, Forest Opinion
Saturday again produced a somewhat disappointing affair, with Forest failing to gain any points come 5 o’clock. However, it was not the slack defending or even the lack of creativity from the midfield that struck me most, but the overall attendance of the game.
Alexander Double Sinks Favourites Forest
Posted in: Articles - Season 2008/09, Forest Matches
Even under Megson, Forest had a sturdy home record, but yesterday the Reds looked far from any such defensive stability, offering a poor performance at home to Burnley. With Joe Heath stepping in for the injured Julian Bennett at left back, the back four looked younger than ever, and it showed.
Wolves Destroy inept Forest
Posted in: Articles - Season 2008/09, Forest Matches
It’s 12:30, and I’ve just arrived into Wolverhampton. There is a lightly diffused display of gold shirts, and no red to be seen anywhere around the town. I’m getting more and more excited as the interesting, in the least, one way system delivers me to the train station, and the increasing number of Wolves fans […]
