Let’s face it, the most realistic way we have of seeing out this weekend without another defeat is if the weather forecast comes in at the more severe end of the prediction and we get the game snowed off. Rarely have I been able to muster up less optimism for a trip down Brian Clough Way despite a largely awful time of it contesting matches at Pride Park [...]

Seven home games without a goal… Here’s hoping the end of the transfer window and a few loans might change things. James Bolton reports from the City Ground. The big news as kick off approached was that youngster Jamaal Lascelles would start in the centre of defence in the absence of Luke Chambers through suspension [...]

As the losses continue and the supporters’ frustration grows, what next? Steve Wright argues Forest fans should come together and contribute to the direction and vision of the club. There will come a time in the future of Nottingham Forest when the club will have to find a way to unite. For so long now [...]

Both immovable object and unstoppable force,
allowing nothing to knock him off course
in pursuit of the ball no matter the cost
and never conceding the battle as lost.

Over ninety minutes or nine hard years,
through promotion joy and play-off tears,
no one gave more than this fellow fan,
the local boy we watched grow to a man.

He was never called the brains of the side,
but always the strength, the heart, the pride,
a solid rock on which to build
a fortress to leave no forward fulfilled.

But though we thought we’d not see the day
our unstoppable force has gone his own way
leaving boots to be filled by unworthy feet –
Wes Morgan is a man you will never beat.

I’m pretty sure the first time I saw Wes Morgan play for Forest was in a pre-season friendly at the City Ground whilst he was still a youngster. He put in a thunderous tackle on a similar-unfamiliar Rafael Van Der Vaart which left the Dutch midfielder without his boot on one foot. I think this was back in 2003, unfortunately the Forest website doesn’t seem to show friendlies on its’ retrospective fixture lists, so I can’t check [...]
