The
West Ham Mission Report

...that I hate London so.
Or might be it be that everywhere is so over-priced and crowded?
Could it be the fact that we got lost on the underground? Or
perhaps it's just because we got unfairly beaten by some very
dubious linesman decisions...
In spite of this though, fun was had by all the missioners -
Alex, Ingram, Caygill and Stupot - during our trip on London
Village following the Red Army's entire FA Cup campaign for 2003.
Here, for your enjoyment and our embarrasment, are the best shots
from our day.

A rather cold-looking Alex sets waits for his bus.

Ingram gets himself in the Missioning mood.

We bumb into LTLF's armchair fan Col on the bus.

We meet up with Caygill and Stupot at Nottingham Station.

As part of his magic act, Ingram pulls a train out of a plastic
bag.

After a two hour journey we arrive at London's St Pancras
station.

A red bus and some roadworks, just to prove we were in
London.

Stupot and Caygill enjoy a pint before we head off to the match.

We struggle to find the right train on the tube.

We eventually find the right one and meet up with some other
Forest fans.

The Upton Park tube station packed with Forest fans.

There was a heavy Police presence outside the station to 'look
after' the thousands of travelling supporters.

We arrive at the Upton Park ground.

The East Stand.

The Bobby Moore Stand.

The brand new Dc Martins Stand.

Forest fans await the kick-off.

The players come onto the pitch.

West Ham dominated the first half...

...but Forest scored first.

Stupot celebrates Forest's second goal.
The rest is history, as are
Forest's FA Cup chances for yet another year. After the game
myself, Stupot and Caygill had to queue outside the station
halfway round London, while Ingram, who was sitting at the other
side of the stand due to a seating error, managed to sneak out
early and go to the pub.
The rest of us then went on a (mis)guided tour of London's
underground station, managing to go in a few circles before
finally finding a way back to St Pancras, just in time to get on
the wrong train. Fortunately, despite fears we would end up in
Derby, it got us back to Nottingham at about 9pm. Mission
Complete.
