Season 2003/04 - The Lego Review
Over the summer, Forest were hoping to build on their play-off near-miss last season, but the club was still under financial pressure. Manager Paul Hart began to release those players he did not want at the club any more...

Having seen many of his team-mates not offered new contracts, Jim Brennan was not impressed by the club's attitude and decided to leave for Norwich City...



So in July, a smaller-than-usual squad reassembled for pre-season training...


Hart brought in Brynjar Gunnarsson and Danny Sonner to give his squad more depth, but the fans were not impressed...


Forest started the season at home to Sunderland who had lost all of their last 15 games. Fortunately Forest were able to extend this record as Marlon Harewood and Mathieu Louis-Jean scored in the blazing August sun...


Signs that it was going to be a difficult season appeared when Forest lost to lowly Cardiff City, as defensive mistakes cost the Reds points...

To turn things around, Hart signed Gareth Taylor from Burnley and loaned Stephen McPhail from Leeds...


Forest started to get some results, but then disaster struck as David Johnson suffered a broken leg against Sheffield United...



It was derby time again at the City Ground, but the Reds were unable to recreate their success of the previous season's encounter. Junior opened the scoring for Derby...

Andy Reid scored a brilliant goal to get Forest back on terms...

But it was the Derby fans who were happier at the final whistle...
