Christian Edwards
| 1998 - 2003 | Defender | 46 (10) | 3 |

Joining
from Swansea in 1998, for the final leg of Forest's Championship
season, Edwards had to wait for eight months to get hs debut from
manager Dave Basset. He did little to impress after that and was
on the verge of leaving the squad, when David Platt draughted him
in to help cover injuries at the start of the 2000/01 season.
Christian took his chance well and established himself into the
team forming a strong partnership with fellow centre back, Tony
Vaughan.
In this season Edwards showed himself to have previously unseen
strength and a good reading of play, battling hard throughout
games. His best asset was his talent when heading the ball, but
he could fall short when attackers run at him. Also, his passing
often let him down once he had won the ball.
Edwards wasn't been able to impress Paul Hart much, his lack of
passing ability not fitting in with the new manager's plans. He
was loaned to Crystal Palace for two months of the 2001/02 season
but failed to secure a permanent move. A series of loan spells
oves followed until he was finally released at the end of the
2002/03 season to Bristol Rovers on a free transfer.
