Andy Johnson
| 1997 - 2001 | Midfielder | 111 (18) | 10 |

Johnos
Forest career began in 1997 when he became one of Dave
Bassets first signings. Joining at the tail end of the
Reds relegation season, Andy was then called upon the play
a key part of the subsequent Promotion race. He controlled the
midfield all season and hit top form towards the end, also
grabbing a couple of goals. Another relegation followed, Johnson
being one of the few players to come out with head held high.
Johnson was a midfield battler who tackled first and asked
questions later. Thus he often got his name in the book, however
his commitment ensured his position as a fans favourite
during his time with Forest. His passing sometimes let him down,
but he had been known to hit good strikes and would always work
hard to help both the defence and the front line.
Johnson departed from the City Ground in 2001 when Paul Hart
allowed him to join West Brom on a free transfer. After a drop in
form and a rumours of a behind-the-scenes rift between him and
the manager, Andy was dropped and lost the support of the fans
making the end of his spell with Forest a sad one.
