Nicky Summerbee
| 2001 - 2002 | Midfielder | 18 games | 2 goals |
Paul Hart
brought Nicky Summerbee to Forest after he was released by Man
City. Summerbee's journeyman career seemed to have reached its
end, but after signing for Forest on a pay-as-you-play, Nicky
regained fitness and found himself in the first team.
He proved himself to be a good signing, his imput helping Stern
John knock up an impressive tally of goals. Summerbee added
crucial width to the Forest side, something which had been
missing for a long time. But he suffered a bad knee injury in
February which ruled him out for the rest of the season.
Needless to say, Forest could not afford to keep him on the books
and he was released, sad in the fact that days before his injury,
Summerbee had turned down a two-year deal from the Reds which
could have guaranteed his future with the club. He joined
Leicester City the following season.
