Huddersfield 1 Forest 1: a view from both sides

August 22, 2012

The Through the Seasons Before Us blogger was in attendance at the John Smith’s Stadium last night and described his feelings as ‘disappointment … tempered with some real genuine positives too.’

One of the most pleasing things in football is receiving praise, not only from your own camp, but from opposition supporters too. A thread on the anachronistically named Down at the Mac forum gives us plenty to smile about, one contributor saying: ‘I hope to chuff not every team in the Championship is as good as they were tonight. McGugan was class and we should have lost by 2 or 3.’

There are a few complaints about alleged time-wasting and cynical play from the Reds, but ultimately it’s nice to see us being praised for our attacking football, something that didn’t happen very often last year.

We’re on the telly on Friday, so possibly a chance to listen to an ever wider audience praise our new-look side… or maybe just one for it all to come crashing down in a horrible pride-before-fall situation!
