Post-Match Poem: Forest v Blackburn

by , October 3, 2012

A derby day poem I could not write
the score was too painful, the game too shite,
the referee so bafflingly bad,
and Forest’s form so startlingly sad.

And had tonight ended in more boos
I might not ever have refound my muse
but thankfully the Reds refound their mojo
relieving some of the Forest fans’ woe.

Of course we couldn’t score the crucial goal
with Billy Sharp in a lone striker role
but clean sheet kept and some chances wasted
is certainly better than getting pasted.

So happily the bard takes up his pen
with positive things to write once again
and hopes that soon Derby will be forgot
now Forest seem to have stopped the rot…
